McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission

Shaun McCutcheon, an Alabama electrical engineer, is currently fighting for your right to support as many political candidates and parties as you like before the U.S. Supreme Court. Shaun is an elected member of the Jefferson County Republican Party Executive and Steering Committees.

The case, McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission, 12-536, will be heard by the Supreme Court in October.

Shaun filed the lawsuit initially with a strong belief that the government should not impose a limit on how many candidates or political parties an individual is allowed to support in any election cycle.  Later during appeals from the Circuit Court in DC to the Supreme Court of the United States, the RNC joined the case to provide additional legal counsel and advice concerning political committees and other aspects.
